actor Kamal Haasan seems to have come up with a new revenue model for his much-awaited project, Viswaroopam.
Rumour has it that the actor has made a negotiation worth Rs 50 crores with DTH (Direct To Home) players to release the film directly on TV on January 11, the same day the film hits the theatres. It will be a one-time release on television and will not be recordable.
Tamil Theater Owners' Association, we hear are in a state of shock and are allegedly threatening to ban the release of Viswaroopam in theatres. An emergency meeting with Kamal Haasan will be held today and the association is expecting to sort out the issue.
The reason being if the model becomes a success, many small films would adapt to this one for extra income and that their collections will get affected
