சோலையூர் கிராமத்தில் ஊர் தலைவராக இருந்து வருகிறார் விஸ்வநாத். இவரை அந்த ஊர் மக்கள் அனைவரும் மதித்து, இவருடைய பேச்சுக்கு கட்டுப்பட்டு வருகிறார்கள். இந்த ஊரின் எம்.பியான ஜெகபதி பாபு அரசு அதிகாரியான பொன்வண்ணனை கொலை செய்கிறார். இதில் பொன்வண்ணன் உயிர் பிரிவதற்குமுன் விஸ்வநாத்திடம் ஊரில் பல ஆண்டுகளாக மூடியிருக்கும் கோயிலை திறக்க வேண்டும் என்று கூறிவிட்டு இறக்கிறார்.

அந்த கோயிலை திறக்க வேண்டுமானால் கோயிலை கட்டிய லிங்கேஸ்வரனின் வாரிசுகள் தான் திறக்க வேண்டும். அவர்கள் எங்கிருக்கிறார்கள் என்று தெரியாத நிலையில் விஸ்வநாத்தின் பேத்தியான அனுஷ்கா லிங்கேஸ்வரனின் வாரிசான லிங்கா என்னும் ரஜினியை தேடி செல்கிறார்.

சென்னையில் ரஜினி தன் நண்பர்களான சந்தானம், கருணா ஆகியோருடன் திருட்டு தொழில் செய்து வருகிறார். இவர்கள் ஒரு பிரச்சனையில் மாட்டிக்கொண்டு ஜெயிலிலுக்கு செல்கிறார்கள். இவர்களை அனுஷ்கா தன் முயற்சியால் ஜெயிலில் இருந்து விடுவிக்கிறார். அதன்பின்பு ரஜினியிடம் லிங்கேஸ்வரனின் பேரனான நீங்கள் சோலையூர் கிராமத்துக்கு வரவேண்டும் என்றும் கோவிலை திறக்க வேண்டும் என்றும் கூறுகிறார். அதற்கு ரஜினி என் தாத்தா எனக்காக ஏதும் செய்யவில்லை ஆதலால் நான் வரமாட்டேன் என்று கூறி மறுக்கிறார்.

அதன்பின்பு ரஜினி தன் நண்பர்களுடன் சேர்ந்துக் கொண்டு 1.5 கோடி மதிப்புள்ள ஒரு நகையை திருடுகிறார். இந்த நகையை சேட்டான மதன்பாப்பிடம் கொடுக்கிறார். இவரை போலீசில் சிக்க வைக்கிறார் அனுஷ்கா. இதையறியும் ரஜினி, மதன்பாப்பால் நாமும் போலீசில் மாட்டிக் கொள்வோம் என்று பயந்து அனுஷ்காவுடன் சோலையூர் கிராமத்திற்கு செல்கிறார்.

அங்கு ஊர் தலைவரான விஸ்வநாத், ரஜினியிடம் இந்த கோயிலில் உள்ள லிங்கம் மரகத கல்லால் செய்யப்பட்டது. இதை நீங்கள் தான் பாதுகாக்க வேண்டும் என்று கூறுகிறார். பல கோடி மதிப்புள்ள மரகத லிங்கத்தை திருடி விற்றால் வாழ்க்கையில் செட்டிலாகி விடலாம் என்று எண்ணி கோயிலுக்கு செல்கிறார். அங்கு கோயிலுக்கு யாரோ சென்று விட்டார்கள் என்று நினைத்து மக்கள் கோயிலை சுற்றி வளைக்கிறார்கள். இதிலிருந்து தப்பிப்பதற்காக ரஜினி கோயிலை திறந்து பூஜை செய்கிறார். அப்போது மக்களிடம் விஸ்வநாத், ரஜினியின் தாத்தா லிங்கேஸ்வரனின் பெருமைகளை எடுத்து கூறுகிறார். இதைக்கேட்ட ரஜினி, தன் தாத்தாவின் உயர்ந்த எண்ணத்தையும் உள்ளத்தையும் எண்ணி வருந்துகிறார். இதனால் இந்த ஊரை விட்டு செல்ல நினைக்கிறார்.

அப்போது விஸ்வநாத், அரசு அதிகாரியான பொன்வண்ணனை யாரோ கொலை செய்து விட்டதாகவும், இந்த ஊரில் உள்ள பாலத்திற்கும், கோயிலுக்கும் ஆபத்து இருக்கிறது என்றும் கூறுகிறார். நீங்கள் கொலை செய்தவர்களையும், இந்த ஊரையும் காக்க வேண்டும் என்றும் கூறுகிறார்.

அதன்பிறகு இந்த ஊரின் எம்.பி.யாக இருக்கும் ஜெகபதிபாபு, ஊரில் உள்ள பாலத்தை இடித்து புதிய பாலம் கட்டி அதில் ஊழல் பண்ணலாம் என்று திட்டமிட்டு வருவது ரஜினிக்கு தெரிய வருகிறது. இறுதியில் ஜெகபதிபாபுவின் திட்டத்தை முறியடித்தாரா? பாலத்தை காப்பாற்றினாரா? என்பதே மீதிக்கதை.

சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரின் அறிமுக பாடல் அட்டகாசமாக ஆரம்பிக்கிறது. வழக்கம்போல் தன் தோளில் மொத்தப் படத்தையும் சுமந்து கொண்டு ரசிகர்களை திருப்தி செய்கிறார். இரண்டு கதாபாத்திரத்திலும் அவருக்கே உரிய ஸ்டைலில் அசத்தியிருக்கிறார். கம்பீரமான நடிப்பால் ரசிகர்களை கவர்கிறார். இவர் பேசும் வசனங்கள் எல்லாம் திரையில் தீ பறக்கிறது. இவரின் சின்ன சின்ன ரியாக்ஷன்ஸ் மிகவும் ரசிக்கும்படி அமைந்துள்ளது.

மற்ற கதாநாயகிகள் போல் பாடல் காட்சிகளுக்கு வந்து செல்லாமல் சிறப்பாக நடித்திருக்கிறார் அனுஷ்கா. இரண்டாம் பாதியில் அழகாக வந்து அழுத்தமான நடிப்பை வெளிப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறார் சோனாக்‌ஷி சின்ஹா.

சந்தானத்தின் காமெடி படத்தில் பெரிதும் வரவேற்பை பெற்றிருக்கிறது. ரஜினியுடன் இவர் சேர்ந்து திருடும் ஒவ்வொரு காட்சியிலும் ரசிகர்களை சிரிக்க வைத்திருக்கிறார்.

குறுகிய காலத்தில் கதை, திரைக்கதை அமைத்து ரசிகர்கள் எதிர்பார்ப்பிற்கு ஏற்றார் போல் சூப்பரான படத்தை இயக்குனர் கே.எஸ்.ரவிக்குமாரால் மட்டுமே இயக்க முடியும் என்பதை நிரூபித்திருக்கிறார். இவரது அனுபவம் திரையில் ஒவ்வொரு காட்சிகளிலும் நன்றாகவே தெரிகிறது. 6 மாத காலத்தில் நிறைய கதாபாத்திரங்களை வைத்து விறுவிறுப்பான திரைக்கதை அமைத்து பிரம்மாண்டான பாடல் காட்சிகளை உருவாக்கி ரசிகர்களுக்கு விருந்து படைத்திருப்பது வியப்பில் ஆழ்த்துகிறது.

ரத்தினவேலு என்னும் ராண்டி, ராட்டினம் போல் அணையின் பிரம்மாண்ட காட்சியை நம் கண்முன் நிறுத்துகிறார். ரெயில் சண்டை காட்சிகள் ஒளிப்பதிவில் மிரட்டியிருக்கிறார். இரண்டு காலங்களுக்கு இடையேயான காட்சிகளை ஒளிப்பதிவு செய்வதை திறமையாக கையாண்டிருக்கிறார்.

பிரம்மாண்டத்திற்கு மகுடம் சூட்டும் விதமாக அமைந்திருக்கிறது ஏ.ஆர்.ரகுமானின் இசை. இந்தியனே... பாடல் ஒவ்வொரு ரசிகர்கள் மனதிலும் உற்சாகத்தை ஏற்படுத்துகிறது. பின்னணி இசை படத்திற்கு கூடுதல் பலமாக அமைந்திருக்கிறது.

Lingaa Movie Review

Story:

Raja Lingeswaran (Rajinikanth) who is a godly figure for the villagers decides to built a reservoir (Mullaiperiyar Dam) to change their fortune forever. However, The English Government betrays him and compels him to leave the region. Movie shifts to present times where Young Lingaa (Rajinikanth) comes to know about his father and decides to fight for the villagers who were still deprived of their rightful share. Can Lingaa do what Lingeswaram couldn't? Was he able to settle scores with the rivals? Watch the film to know more!

Artists Performance:

Rajinikanth: He makes a comeback with a tailor-made subject. As Raja Lingeswaran who is patriotic and the one who utters dialogue with philosophical touch with a lot of conviction, Thalaivar is outstanding. His screen presence, energy levels, style, attitude and dialogue delivery are simply superb. Its a treat to watch him back in action after many years and that's the biggest asset of 'Lingaa'.

Sonakshi Sinha: She appears in the Period set-up. As Village Belle who is fearless, This B-Town Babe looks great and performs very well. Her chemistry with Rajini is the one of the best elements in the movie.

Anushka Shetty : She plays Rajini's love interest in Present Times. As a smart Journalist, Anushka does a fine job.

Santhanam produces few laughs. Jagapathi Babu, Dev Gill and Others have been adequate.

Analysis:

KS Ravikumar choose a 'Pre-Independence & Post-Independence' subject inspired from the life of John Pennycuick for his reunion with Rajinkanth after 15 Years of All-Time Blockbuster 'Narasimha'.

AR Rahman's songs were passable but background score is exceptional. Ratnavelu's cinematography is flawless. Sabu Cyril's art direction is fabulous. Dialogues are excellent. Fights could have been better. Editing is not upto the mark. Production Values are fantabulous.

The plot resembles some of Rajini's past movies and it's predictable to say the least. A lot more intensity and gripping narration could have created wonders though. Of course, Rajini entertains with his trademark styles throughout the course of the movie. 'Lingaa' pleases all those die-hard Rajinikanth Fans to some extent but don't expect it to be anywhere close to 'Narasimha'!

Box Office: 'Lingaa' is certain to take an earth-shattering opening as advance booking for the Weekend has been fantastic. In all possibility, It is expected to be biggest opener ever for a South Indian Film. But, Will that be enough to rewrite 'Robo' records?

Gautam V Menon’s Ajith starrer Yennai Arinthal will be out by the end of this year says the director. The film is almost wrapped except for some important portions which is due to complete in 25 days. Ajith has put his heart and soul in this movie which will have quite heaviness on the lead character as said by Gautam Menon. There were rumors that the makers have put in extra effort to show Ajith handsomely, however the director has dismissed these factors claiming that Ajith is already smart and handsome, they have just captured it as it is. The theme of the movie is simple yet will make the viewer’s fall in love with the protagonist whose life span form 12 to 40 has been captured, with Ajith featuring in 25, 30 and 40 years. The two heroines, Trisha and Anushka will make appearances in different time period.

Ajith’s ‘Arrambam’ has been setting new box office records not only in India, but also across the World. Popular trade analyst Taran Adarsh has revealed the collections for the opening weekend. In UK, the film had collected £ 135,223 (Rs 1.34 crore) and in Australia, the movie had collected A$ 55,953 (Rs 33.05 lakh). Similarly, from the 73 screens in US, the movie had collected $330,615 (2.04 crore) in its opening weekend. The movie is aslo going strong across all other countries like Malaysia, Canada and Singapore. The movie is directed by Vishnuvardhan and he has now given the second blockbuster after ‘Billa’ with Ajith. Yuvan’s music has also helped for the movie’s success.

Atlee of Raja Rani may soon direct Ajith, if things go well for him. The young director was introduced to Thala by Arya, who incidentally played the lead role in Raja Rani. When Arya came to know that Atlee had a mass entertainer on hands which would be suitable only for Ajith, he immediately arranged for the meeting. Ajith, according to sources, is also very impressed with the story and has asked the director to fine-tune it. Atlee is now working on the script and will soon be making an official announcement, say sources. Watch this space for more updates!

Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam 2 in Auro 3D

Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan says the sequel to 'Vishwaroopam' will come soon in 3D sound format, also known as Auro 3D. After the success of Vishwaroopam, which had utilised the Auro 3D sound technology, Kamal's Vishwaroopam 2 is in the making. The sequel is also likely to be released this year. "We are doing Vishwaroopam 2. We are working on it. We are quite charged up for it. This time the sequel will come in Auro 3D," Kamal Haasan told reporters today. Vishwaroopam was embroiled in a controversy after a section of people demanded a ban on the film's screening, claiming that it hurt the sentiments of a community. Following the protests, the movie was banned from screening across Tamil Nadu and in some other states but was released after few days. The espionage thriller was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 95 crore and has grossed over Rs 220 crore. The sequel will reportedly focus more on mother-son sentiments.

Total Viswaroopam 36 days box office business in India has now come at the figure 218.69 crore nett. Although the movie has begun showing the drop in business, but there are expectations of the film’s crossing 250 crore mark. The movie can finish off with the figure of 250 crore or above. Let’s wait and see. If it finishes off with 250 crore or not, the fact remains that the film has really written history in Indian entertainment business. Kamal Haasan is now all set to start working on the sequel ‘Viswaroopam 2’ or ‘Vishwaroopam 2’. The approximate release date, as per reports, is May 2013.
