சோலையூர் கிராமத்தில் ஊர் தலைவராக இருந்து வருகிறார் விஸ்வநாத். இவரை அந்த ஊர் மக்கள் அனைவரும் மதித்து, இவருடைய பேச்சுக்கு கட்டுப்பட்டு வருகிறார்கள். இந்த ஊரின் எம்.பியான ஜெகபதி பாபு அரசு அதிகாரியான பொன்வண்ணனை கொலை செய்கிறார். இதில் பொன்வண்ணன் உயிர் பிரிவதற்குமுன் விஸ்வநாத்திடம் ஊரில் பல ஆண்டுகளாக மூடியிருக்கும் கோயிலை திறக்க வேண்டும் என்று கூறிவிட்டு இறக்கிறார்.

அந்த கோயிலை திறக்க வேண்டுமானால் கோயிலை கட்டிய லிங்கேஸ்வரனின் வாரிசுகள் தான் திறக்க வேண்டும். அவர்கள் எங்கிருக்கிறார்கள் என்று தெரியாத நிலையில் விஸ்வநாத்தின் பேத்தியான அனுஷ்கா லிங்கேஸ்வரனின் வாரிசான லிங்கா என்னும் ரஜினியை தேடி செல்கிறார்.

சென்னையில் ரஜினி தன் நண்பர்களான சந்தானம், கருணா ஆகியோருடன் திருட்டு தொழில் செய்து வருகிறார். இவர்கள் ஒரு பிரச்சனையில் மாட்டிக்கொண்டு ஜெயிலிலுக்கு செல்கிறார்கள். இவர்களை அனுஷ்கா தன் முயற்சியால் ஜெயிலில் இருந்து விடுவிக்கிறார். அதன்பின்பு ரஜினியிடம் லிங்கேஸ்வரனின் பேரனான நீங்கள் சோலையூர் கிராமத்துக்கு வரவேண்டும் என்றும் கோவிலை திறக்க வேண்டும் என்றும் கூறுகிறார். அதற்கு ரஜினி என் தாத்தா எனக்காக ஏதும் செய்யவில்லை ஆதலால் நான் வரமாட்டேன் என்று கூறி மறுக்கிறார்.

அதன்பின்பு ரஜினி தன் நண்பர்களுடன் சேர்ந்துக் கொண்டு 1.5 கோடி மதிப்புள்ள ஒரு நகையை திருடுகிறார். இந்த நகையை சேட்டான மதன்பாப்பிடம் கொடுக்கிறார். இவரை போலீசில் சிக்க வைக்கிறார் அனுஷ்கா. இதையறியும் ரஜினி, மதன்பாப்பால் நாமும் போலீசில் மாட்டிக் கொள்வோம் என்று பயந்து அனுஷ்காவுடன் சோலையூர் கிராமத்திற்கு செல்கிறார்.

அங்கு ஊர் தலைவரான விஸ்வநாத், ரஜினியிடம் இந்த கோயிலில் உள்ள லிங்கம் மரகத கல்லால் செய்யப்பட்டது. இதை நீங்கள் தான் பாதுகாக்க வேண்டும் என்று கூறுகிறார். பல கோடி மதிப்புள்ள மரகத லிங்கத்தை திருடி விற்றால் வாழ்க்கையில் செட்டிலாகி விடலாம் என்று எண்ணி கோயிலுக்கு செல்கிறார். அங்கு கோயிலுக்கு யாரோ சென்று விட்டார்கள் என்று நினைத்து மக்கள் கோயிலை சுற்றி வளைக்கிறார்கள். இதிலிருந்து தப்பிப்பதற்காக ரஜினி கோயிலை திறந்து பூஜை செய்கிறார். அப்போது மக்களிடம் விஸ்வநாத், ரஜினியின் தாத்தா லிங்கேஸ்வரனின் பெருமைகளை எடுத்து கூறுகிறார். இதைக்கேட்ட ரஜினி, தன் தாத்தாவின் உயர்ந்த எண்ணத்தையும் உள்ளத்தையும் எண்ணி வருந்துகிறார். இதனால் இந்த ஊரை விட்டு செல்ல நினைக்கிறார்.

அப்போது விஸ்வநாத், அரசு அதிகாரியான பொன்வண்ணனை யாரோ கொலை செய்து விட்டதாகவும், இந்த ஊரில் உள்ள பாலத்திற்கும், கோயிலுக்கும் ஆபத்து இருக்கிறது என்றும் கூறுகிறார். நீங்கள் கொலை செய்தவர்களையும், இந்த ஊரையும் காக்க வேண்டும் என்றும் கூறுகிறார்.

அதன்பிறகு இந்த ஊரின் எம்.பி.யாக இருக்கும் ஜெகபதிபாபு, ஊரில் உள்ள பாலத்தை இடித்து புதிய பாலம் கட்டி அதில் ஊழல் பண்ணலாம் என்று திட்டமிட்டு வருவது ரஜினிக்கு தெரிய வருகிறது. இறுதியில் ஜெகபதிபாபுவின் திட்டத்தை முறியடித்தாரா? பாலத்தை காப்பாற்றினாரா? என்பதே மீதிக்கதை.

சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரின் அறிமுக பாடல் அட்டகாசமாக ஆரம்பிக்கிறது. வழக்கம்போல் தன் தோளில் மொத்தப் படத்தையும் சுமந்து கொண்டு ரசிகர்களை திருப்தி செய்கிறார். இரண்டு கதாபாத்திரத்திலும் அவருக்கே உரிய ஸ்டைலில் அசத்தியிருக்கிறார். கம்பீரமான நடிப்பால் ரசிகர்களை கவர்கிறார். இவர் பேசும் வசனங்கள் எல்லாம் திரையில் தீ பறக்கிறது. இவரின் சின்ன சின்ன ரியாக்ஷன்ஸ் மிகவும் ரசிக்கும்படி அமைந்துள்ளது.

மற்ற கதாநாயகிகள் போல் பாடல் காட்சிகளுக்கு வந்து செல்லாமல் சிறப்பாக நடித்திருக்கிறார் அனுஷ்கா. இரண்டாம் பாதியில் அழகாக வந்து அழுத்தமான நடிப்பை வெளிப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறார் சோனாக்‌ஷி சின்ஹா.

சந்தானத்தின் காமெடி படத்தில் பெரிதும் வரவேற்பை பெற்றிருக்கிறது. ரஜினியுடன் இவர் சேர்ந்து திருடும் ஒவ்வொரு காட்சியிலும் ரசிகர்களை சிரிக்க வைத்திருக்கிறார்.

குறுகிய காலத்தில் கதை, திரைக்கதை அமைத்து ரசிகர்கள் எதிர்பார்ப்பிற்கு ஏற்றார் போல் சூப்பரான படத்தை இயக்குனர் கே.எஸ்.ரவிக்குமாரால் மட்டுமே இயக்க முடியும் என்பதை நிரூபித்திருக்கிறார். இவரது அனுபவம் திரையில் ஒவ்வொரு காட்சிகளிலும் நன்றாகவே தெரிகிறது. 6 மாத காலத்தில் நிறைய கதாபாத்திரங்களை வைத்து விறுவிறுப்பான திரைக்கதை அமைத்து பிரம்மாண்டான பாடல் காட்சிகளை உருவாக்கி ரசிகர்களுக்கு விருந்து படைத்திருப்பது வியப்பில் ஆழ்த்துகிறது.

ரத்தினவேலு என்னும் ராண்டி, ராட்டினம் போல் அணையின் பிரம்மாண்ட காட்சியை நம் கண்முன் நிறுத்துகிறார். ரெயில் சண்டை காட்சிகள் ஒளிப்பதிவில் மிரட்டியிருக்கிறார். இரண்டு காலங்களுக்கு இடையேயான காட்சிகளை ஒளிப்பதிவு செய்வதை திறமையாக கையாண்டிருக்கிறார்.

பிரம்மாண்டத்திற்கு மகுடம் சூட்டும் விதமாக அமைந்திருக்கிறது ஏ.ஆர்.ரகுமானின் இசை. இந்தியனே... பாடல் ஒவ்வொரு ரசிகர்கள் மனதிலும் உற்சாகத்தை ஏற்படுத்துகிறது. பின்னணி இசை படத்திற்கு கூடுதல் பலமாக அமைந்திருக்கிறது.

Lingaa Movie Review

Story:

Raja Lingeswaran (Rajinikanth) who is a godly figure for the villagers decides to built a reservoir (Mullaiperiyar Dam) to change their fortune forever. However, The English Government betrays him and compels him to leave the region. Movie shifts to present times where Young Lingaa (Rajinikanth) comes to know about his father and decides to fight for the villagers who were still deprived of their rightful share. Can Lingaa do what Lingeswaram couldn't? Was he able to settle scores with the rivals? Watch the film to know more!

Artists Performance:

Rajinikanth: He makes a comeback with a tailor-made subject. As Raja Lingeswaran who is patriotic and the one who utters dialogue with philosophical touch with a lot of conviction, Thalaivar is outstanding. His screen presence, energy levels, style, attitude and dialogue delivery are simply superb. Its a treat to watch him back in action after many years and that's the biggest asset of 'Lingaa'.

Sonakshi Sinha: She appears in the Period set-up. As Village Belle who is fearless, This B-Town Babe looks great and performs very well. Her chemistry with Rajini is the one of the best elements in the movie.

Anushka Shetty : She plays Rajini's love interest in Present Times. As a smart Journalist, Anushka does a fine job.

Santhanam produces few laughs. Jagapathi Babu, Dev Gill and Others have been adequate.

Analysis:

KS Ravikumar choose a 'Pre-Independence & Post-Independence' subject inspired from the life of John Pennycuick for his reunion with Rajinkanth after 15 Years of All-Time Blockbuster 'Narasimha'.

AR Rahman's songs were passable but background score is exceptional. Ratnavelu's cinematography is flawless. Sabu Cyril's art direction is fabulous. Dialogues are excellent. Fights could have been better. Editing is not upto the mark. Production Values are fantabulous.

The plot resembles some of Rajini's past movies and it's predictable to say the least. A lot more intensity and gripping narration could have created wonders though. Of course, Rajini entertains with his trademark styles throughout the course of the movie. 'Lingaa' pleases all those die-hard Rajinikanth Fans to some extent but don't expect it to be anywhere close to 'Narasimha'!

Box Office: 'Lingaa' is certain to take an earth-shattering opening as advance booking for the Weekend has been fantastic. In all possibility, It is expected to be biggest opener ever for a South Indian Film. But, Will that be enough to rewrite 'Robo' records?

Verdict: Rajini's One Man Show!

VB-H is the leading global technology standard from the DVB Organization for transmission of Digital TV targeting handheld, battery powered devices such as mobile telephones, PDAs etc. Published as a formal standard (EN 203 204) by ETSI (European Telecom Standards Institute) in November 2004, it is a physical layer specification designed to enable efficient delivery of IP encapsulated data over terrestrial networks. It is a non proprietary open standard. After the successful testing of mobile reception using DVB-T, possibility for broadcasting to handheld was explored by DVB organization. The key application in mind were Mobile TV, Video streaming in general & File Downloads-all targeted at handheld receivers operating on limited battery life and difficult reception condition. With this background the specifications for DVB-H were framed.

The customers would not have to pay extra charges for calls or SMSes beyond their existing tariff plans on festival days like Diwali and New Year, says a TRAI directive issued on Sep 14, 2012.

"The charges for calls or SMSs on 'blackout' days shall not exceed the rate in the tariff plan in which the consumer is enrolled," Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) said. It needs to be clarified if the Blackout days have been mentioned in the plan the customer has enrolled for, those blackout days will stay till the plan period.

Those days are called 'Blackout days' which belong to some special occasion or festivals such as Diwali, Dussehra and on such days the telecom operators do not allow concessional voice calls and SMS offered by the same companies on normal days under other plans or packages.

The regulator has also said the telecom operators would also have to intimate the consumers before the start of the blackout day and the said date/occasion will also be intimated to the customers.

The blackout days’ list for the year should also be displayed on the website of service providers before the start of the year. There are earlier guidelines in place earlier which suggest there should no more than five blackout days per year and once the package has been subscribed to, there should be no alteration by the telecom operator.

IPTV Vs Cable TV

PTV attempts to swap Cable TV. Four months after launch of IPTV service MTNL have just garnered 1500 subscribers. Bharti Airtel plans to start its IPTV service next month, while Reliance Communication expects to ready their IPTV service in the second half of the year. Frost & Sullivan, a research company predicts India will have 4 lakh IPTV customers by 2010.

MTNL is now increasing their service from 22 channels to 72 in Delhi. In Mumbai they are already running 100 channels. The major constraint in increasing the IPTV services is the availability of content . The broadcasters are reluctant to provide their content to the telcos. Their major concern being that the subscribers will record and redistribute their content.

The Telcos who so far were handling traffic are becoming access providers for the customers supplying all services carried over a broadband network (TV, Internet, Telephony) merging the fixed line. Providing a television within this offer will help to encourage the attraction of the access service and side by side also lend a hand in keeping their customers. Furthermore, TV services help in generating additional revenues.

For the alternative operators i.e. the competitors, depending on the extent of control they have over the network, a position in the TV market could, by default, include carriage of DTT offers using a hybrid STB. Their TV offer might be enhanced to comprise of 25 to 50 channels to increase their market share. In the most vibrant markets where the ISPs are operating without a TV offer they may get marginalized. But Internet services that involve access plus voice still make up the essence of the access market and are still very common with large number of customers especially, those who are already taking delivery of multichannel TV offer in other ways. Telcos like MTNL are taking advantage of this fact and making use of their for 4 million telephone subscriber base in Delhi and Mumbai.

Opportunity for all

The new concept would probably bring out gains for the TV channel operators because they can increase the licensing fee earned from pay-TV operators. Also, there would be an increase in the advertising revenues for thematic channels. There is a possibility that these channels opt for the new distribution system created by IPTV operators. The increasingly personalized nature of TV will also give an opportunity to the programmes’' rights holders to increase the value of their catalogue which would add an income for the channels that financed the programmes.

The customers for whom the technology has been introduced will also be served with a variety of benefits. IPTV will make TV viewing more personalised. Customers can store programmes and view them later at a convenient time. On demand services will become part of every day life.

IPTV can also be put to good use as a video classroom and a medium for online training. May be because of this reason IPTV is more commonly known as ITV i.e. Interactive TV in US. Furthermore, as we all are aware that a broadband connection is required for IPTV, Internet surfing will not be affected since the connection is different from the normal internet connection.

News7 the new Tamil Infotainment Channel

 

Chennai : Tamil audience will be witnessing an addition in the list of Tamil News channel with the launch of News7. However, News7 comes with a claim that it is a world class Tamil news channel. To match with their claim the, to be launched channel has roped in the award winning Music Composer A R Rahman to launch the channel with a Global Concert.

Declaring support for a new infotainment channel to be launched on October 2, Oscar-winning music composer A.R. Rahman said he would compose a jingle for the channel.

“The jingle will be revealed at my concert on October 2,” said Mr. Rahman on Friday.

The channel, News 7 Tamil, will focus on Tamil diaspora in a number of countries, including South Africa and Mauritius.

Mr. Rahman will also work with the channel on a music-based programme, said S. Senthil Velavan, head of operations, News 7 Tamil.

“Although the channel will be available in India, it will be aimed at the Tamil diaspora. In South Africa and other countries, there are a number of people interested in Tamil culture and news, but with very little access to it,” said Mr. Velavan. Though it will be launched on October 2, the channel will go on air only later, he said.

The launch campaign of the new channel was going on for the past two weeks with on-air promos in various Channels, OOH activity and moving media activity. Initially they ran a teaser which was revealed couple of days before.
