How to Disable directory listing using File permissions in cpanel

In this post I will explain about how to Disable or hide directory listing in cpanel using File permissions. File Permissions Terminology: Read - This is denoted by retches will allow files & Directories/folders to be read by specified user group. Write - This is denoted by w, with this permission we are permitting write access to a user group so that it can be modified by the user. Execute - This is denoted by x, With this permission, we are giving execute access to a file or folder.so that it can be executed as programs by the user. It can be done in 3 steps: Step-1: Log in to your “cpanel” account and go to “File manager” Step-2: Select the folder for which you want to disable the directory listing. Then right click on the folder and select Change Permissions option or click on Change Permissions link at the top of the page. Step-3: Then Assign permissions as “7 7 1”.It means that folder /directory can accessible by owner and groups (which belongs to owner) but it can’t be accessible by users or visitors .Though they can download the files. This is one of the simplest and convent method or you can try “disable directory listing using Index Manager”. if u need more information means just send Email to :: Ramkicompany@gmail.com
